Jackie Whittaker, PT, PhD

Dr. Whittaker is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physical Therapy, University of British Columbia and Research Scientist at Arthritis Research Canada. As a clinical specialist in musculoskeletal rehabilitation and clinical epidemiologist her research focuses on preventing knee osteoarthritis resulting from traumatic sport-related knee joint injuries. Her work aims to improve patient outcomes through understanding the long-term consequences of knee injuries, and developing and evaluating interventions to reduce the risk of knee osteoarthritis in this population. Central to her work is an integrated knowledge translation approach, involving patients and health professional throughout the research-to-practice continuum.
