Dr Melanie Holden is a Chartered Physiotherapist with 15 years of experience of applied health research, based within the Clinical Trials Unit and School of Primary, Community and Social Care (SPCSC) at Keele University, UK. Her clinically applied research interest is around optimising outcomes from osteoarthritis rehabilitation. She has been involved in the development and testing of novel physiotherapy-led rehabilitation interventions for osteoarthritis focused on exercise, exercise adherence, knee brace use and weight loss. In collaboration with the OA Trial Bank, Dr Holden is currently leading the first individual participant data (IPD) meta-analysis of exercise for knee and hip osteoarthritis (STEER OA IPD meta-analysis).
