Tim McAlindon is Chair of the Division of Rheumatology at Tufts University School of Medicine and Chief of Rheumatology, Allergy and Immunology at Tufts Medical Center. He has a research track in the field of osteoarthritis (OA); and pursuit of development of simple and inexpensive disease-modifying interventions for OA. This brought a focus on the mechanisms of structural progression, its measurement, and comparative effectiveness testing of potential disease-modifying interventions. He has accrued extensive experience with recruitment and performance of knee osteoarthritis clinical trials including their methodological aspects and sophisticated outcome measurements.
